Greetings.  My name is John.  I live in a cube.  Thus, why I have a blog - as a channel of energy and fluid thoughts.  OK, it’s really not that bad.  I’m an engineer that likes to dabble in sales, and I’ll leave it at that, because the focus of this blog is not on my job.  It is however my Slant (thus the name, infused with a twist of automotive nostalgia) on the oddities, quirks, and random events that happen in the world around me, and maybe even you.

Just as a background, I live in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN.  Just a normal guy, holding down a normal job, in a pretty normal city.  You may notice a slight chip on my shoulder about Southeastern Michigan, from where I recently moved.  Unfortunately, that chip will stay there until I sell my house which is currently flailing in a crashing market.  I also hailed from the automotive industry, doing time at one of the “Big Three”, which spools up plenty of commentary in that regard.  But anyway, I do get a bit riled up sometimes, so I urge you to please not take any of my comments personally - I’m actually quite open to debate, and a nice guy to be around.  I’m not out to flame you - no need to retaliate.
